There are always teams and players hit by free agency and trades in good and bad ways. This year was no different. Free agency, trades and the draft are how you get your team over the top each year or on the outside looking in.
Winners (Players)
Albert Haynesworth -- $100 million.
Terrell Owens -- $6.5 million, 1-year guaranteed money even after the Cowboys debacle.
T.J. Houshmandzadeh -- WR got paid by Seahawks and got out of Cincinnati.
Matt Cassel --One year ago, Casselwas hoping he woul Read more...

The Buffalo Bills just got better with the signing of Terrell Owens.
There is no doubt that the Bills got better on the field but the main question is ... will their locker room be filled with chaos? I personally think the Bills' risk is minimal because it's a one-year contractand it's awful tough for one player to ruin a locker room in one year. If you look at Owens' track record, he is usually a model locker room presence in year one, which is why I believe that T.O. is a good for the Bills a Read more...

I went to Kansas with my son on Friday and Saturday to watch the Texas Longhorns play Kansas at Allen Fieldhouse. I am a USC guy, but I nowknow why I root for Kansas as well. So I put together a list of the things I love about K.U.
1. The Student Body: They treated me and my son like royalty. The students were awesome before, during and after the game. A lot of class and fun to hang with.
2. Bill Self: He deserves NCAA coach of the year and is a great man. He has got more out of less than any Read more...

Terrell Owens had to go.
The Cowboys made the move they needed to, according to the Cowboys. I have had plenty of run-ins and disagreements with Owens over the years. I believe the Cowboys' production on the field will be affected unless they find another studreceiver or Roy Williams proves he can be a No. 1 wideout in the NFL.
I still like T.O. as a player. Defenses still have to respect him. He may drop too many balls, but he also is a gamebreaker and a lightning rod. Had the Cowboys taken c Read more...

The NBA is still a game for the big man. Rarely will at team win the NBA title without a dominant inside presence.
College is a guard game, not the NBA. Last year, the Celtics won it with Kevin Garnett and a deep bunch of big men -- so have the Spurs with Tim Duncan.
Now, take a look at the rest of this year’s contenders -- the Lakers with Pau Gasol, the Magic with Dwight Howard, the Suns with a rejuvenated and healthy Shaquille O'Neal -- and I can guarantee you if you don't have an insi Read more...

I think the Chiefs have as good a general manager as there is in sports. The Chiefs have a great foundation, a classy owner (the Hunt Family), an awesome stadium and special fans.
The closest thing to a college atmosphere is Arrowhead Stadium on a Sunday, and they have a solid history that needs to rear its head. I don't believe the Chiefs are ready to win a division title, but the NFL is the only league that you can go from 1-15 to winning a division. That is because of a salary cap and free a Read more...

LOSERS
Baltimore Ravens
They let Bart Scott get away and is at odds with Ray Lewis and Samari Rolle. They also lost center Jason Brown to the Rams.
Tennessee Titans
They let their best defensive player – Albert Haynesworth -- get away and now need a good draft.
Philadelphia Eagles
Gone: Brian Dawkins, Lito Sheppard, Correll Buckhalter. They still have no help at WR and no long-term deal at QB with Donovan McNabb. Depth may be an issue.

UConn - They have a dominant big man in Hasheem Thabeet and enough scoring to win it all.
Pitt - They proved how physical they are against UConn. They will hit you in the mouth.
Memphis - Young, athletic and well coached. They pressure you for 40 minutes. College hoops is about guards and Evans is a star.
North Carolina - The Tar Heels aren’t as dominant as I expected, but when their starting five is on they are capable of winning everything. Don't sleep on the Heels guard play.
