Here are a few random thoughts from over the weekend. No particular order, but here you go:
-Texas has a major argument with a win over Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl.
-Utah has one as well (undefeated) and beat up on Bama.
-Those who think we don't need a college play-off are out of their mind and ignorant.
- No college hoops team is going undefeated any season soon. There is too much competition and change on teams. North Carolina lost to Boston College. They shouldn't have lost, but they will lose again.
-The Pitt Panthers can flat out play basketball.
-The Big East is as good as advertised in NCAA hoops.
-The Yankees have to win it all in 2009 or their money spent was a waste and ridiculous.
-It is easy not to like Florida or Oklahoma if you’re not a fan of their team. They carry such great arrogance with them. I like it! They are good; they know it and they prove it. This game will have a lot taunting on and off the field.
-I will reiterate this point; Tim Tebow will be a QB in the NFL. Why not, you ask? He does everything and most importantly, he wins. And I'm a tough judge on QB's.
-I would hate to see Tony Dungy leave as Colts Head Coach. He has class and the NFL needs class!!!
-Darren Sproles is better than LT at this point (even when LT is healthy).
-Rex Ryan will be a damn good NFL Head Coach and is worth waiting for. He’s smart, tough and loves football. And he doesn’t take any crap.
-The Cowboys would be wise to bring in Mike Shanahan. Could he and Jerry Jones co-exist? I know they both have egos, but crave winning.
-Face it; certain coaches need to stay assistant coaches. The wise ones know it too (Tom Moore, Colts and Jim Johnson, Eagles).
-Matt Millen is back in TV and damn good at it. He is great as a game announcer. NBC made a smart hire in Millen. NBC boss Dick Ebersol gets it!
-Bill Cowher good at TV, but excellent as a head coach. He is one of those guys you want to work for. I don't know when, but he will coach again.
-Pro Bowl a week before Super Bowl? That means two weeks in Miami? Could get a bit scary. Miami, warm weather and bars open. Get your hotel rooms early.
-I want everyone to listen to ESPN announcer Dan Schulman. He is as good of a play-by-play guy as you can find, that isn't named Joe Buck or Al Michaels. He’s highly underrated.
- Deal with it. Hot sideline reporters are better than seeing a dude. The hot ones that know sports are the only ones we like. No men should be allowed on the sidelines. Leave them in the booth. Yes, I'm okay with a pretty face.
-Maybe we should just take all the girls from Deal or No Deal and make them learn sports.
-I almost forgot the NBA is in full swing. I love basketball, but you can go away for two weeks and it’s still there. Kind of like soap operas.
-If you were to start a team, who do you want: Kobe or LeBron?
- I love those Coors Light coaches’ commercials.
-How are the Detroit Lions going to make their job enticing enough to make someone actually take it.
-If you had to win one NFL game, which coach would you get to lead your team?
-Marvin Harrison will not be a Colt next year.
-Matt Cassel is about to get paid, one way or the other.
-Coaching intrigues me. I’d love the challenge!
