Let me introduce you to: Peyton Manning
Manning passed John Elway for third all time in the NFL for most completions (4,123) joining Brett Favre and Dan Marino at the top of the list.
Stat of the day: 21
The New England Patriots hold the NFL record for longest winning streak of 21 which they earned over the 2006-08 seasons. The Colts can tie the record if they beat Tennessee in Week 13.
Rookie look: Houston CB out of Utah Brice McCain made his first interception of his career off of none other than Peyton Manning.
Defense/Special teams: Colts LB Clint Sessions intercepted Matt Schaub in the fourth quarter and returned the ball for a 27 yard run for the TD. Colts safety Antoine Bethea intercepted a pass by Shaub as well. Peyton wasn’t totally perfect as he threw two first-half interceptions, one made by rookie corner Brice McCain, but neither could be returned for a TD.
Look ahead: In Week 13, the 11-0 Colts will host the Titans who have been on a hot streak since QB Vince Young has been starting. The Titans have a top ranked rush offense going up against Indy, but if these last few games have taught us anything, it’s never under estimate the power of Peyton Manning and the Colts. The Texans will travel to Jacksonville to battle the Jaguars who have won their last three games. Matt Schaub will be throwing against the No. 25 ranked pass defense in the Jaguars.
Things you didn’t know: Since 1950, the Colts are the only team to come back and win five straight games after trailing in the fourth quarter.
Final take: The Texans played hard the first half of the game and were on pace to hand the Colts their first loss of the season. They held the lead until the fourth quarter and then Peyton and the Colts finally woke up, scoring four unanswered TDs before Texans finally scored one last time with just 18 seconds left in the game. Just when you think the Colts will fall, they prevail, which is why they are arguably the best team in the NFL.
