Quarterbacks
Manning goes for 299 yards, one TD
Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning completed 22-of-31 passes for 299 yards, one TD and two INT in Sunday's Week 11 win at Baltimore. The Colts actually turned the ball over three times, just the second time they've done that in the past 32 games.
Analysis: Manning has managed six TD passes and five INT over his past four games. That also includes a four-TD effort against New England last Sunday. So Manning has been a little erratic for his fantasy owners lately. Regardless, he remains a must-start in all fantasy leagues heading into Week 12 at Houston. Manning was 34-of-50 for 318 yards, one TD and one INT in Week 9 against the Texans in the first meeting.
Brady throws for 310 yards, TD
New England Patriots QB Tom Brady completed 28-of-41 passes for 310 yards, one TD and no INTs in Sunday's Week 11 win against the Jets.
Analysis: Brady was much better in the second meeting than the first, when he managed just 216 yards, no TD and one pick in a 16-9 loss. Brady and the Pats have a difficult matchup on Monday Night Football in Week 12 at New Orleans, but that has the potential to be a shootout just like last week. Start him in all fantasy leagues as you normally would.
Sanchise demoralizing again
New York Jets rookie QB Mark Sanchez completed just 8-of-21 passes for 136 yards, one TD and four INTs in Sunday's Week 11 loss at New England. He also lost one fumble.
Analysis: Sanchez was awful against an angry Patriots defense still smarting from a Week 10 loss in Indianapolis. After starting out 3-0 with four TDs and two INTs, Sanchez has done a brutal job taking care of the ball. He has six TD passes and 14 INTs over his past seven games. Avoid him in all fantasy leagues for another tough matchup against Carolina, a team with a surprisingly stout pass D, in Week 12.
Flacco does very little in win
Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco completed 23-of-35 passes for 256 yards, no TDs and one INT in Sunday's Week 11 loss against the Colts.
Analysis: After throwing at least one TD pass in his first seven games, Flacco has gone three straight games without a TD strike. Keep him on your bench for Week 12 against a Steelers defense which might be very angry after being torched by the Chiefs.
Favre almost perfect
Veteran QB Brett Favre was nearly perfect on Sunday as he had just three incompletion (22-of-25) for 213 yards and four TDs.
Analysis: Favre is proving all his doubters wrong this season as he is showing he is still a must start fantasy league QB. Not to mention he is putting up numbers truly worthy of a Pro Bowl this season.
Warner leaves game at half, doesn’t return
Cardinals QB Kurt Warner left Sunday’s game against the Rams before halftime with an apparent head injury and did not return. The Cards still went on to win. Warner finished going 15 of 19 for 203 passing yards and two touchdowns. He also lost a fumble.
Analysis: Warner still put up decent numbers for playing just a little bit under a half. His injury should be monitored, because if it is a concussion, he may miss next week’s game against the Titans.
Leinart gets playing time
With Kurt Warner knocked out of the game with a head injury, Cardinals QB Matt Leinart took over for the second half, going 10 of 14 for 74 yards in Sunday’s win over the Rams. He did not throw a touchdown or an interception.
Analysis: Don’t get too excited, he did go up against the Rams. Besides, it’s not like he’s the starter. Even if Warner can’t go next week against the Titans, Leinart shouldn’t be a starting fantasy option.
Bulger’s fumble proves crucial
Rams QB Marc Bulger, fumbled late in Sunday’s loss to the Cards. While he did not lose the fumble, it didn’t kill the Rams’ drive as they trailed by eight points. Bulger finished the game 19 of 37 for 215 yards and one interception.
Analysis: Bulger proves yet again that he should not be on your fantasy team, even against a low-rated pass defense like that of Arizona.
Cutler throws another pick
Bears QB Jay Cutler threw his 18th interception of the season – his 13th in his past six games – in Sunday night’s loss to the Eagles. He finished the game 24 of 43 for 171 yards, one touchdown and the aforementioned interception.
Analysis: We know, Cutler has been absolutely killing your team the past six weeks. The question is, though: why have you stuck with him so long? It may be time to bench him until you see some improvement in his play.
McNabb tosses 2 TD passes
Eagles QB Donovan McNabb was 23 of 32 for 244 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Sunday’s win over the Bears.
Analysis: McNabb has been good, not great, this season and faces a tough Redskins pass defense in Week 12. Play him at your own risk, because he may have a poor showing against the Redskins’ top-ranked pass defense.
Hasselbeck lackluster in loss
Seattle QB Matt Hasselbeck completed 19-of-26 passes for 231 yards and an INT in the Seahawks Week 11 beat-down at the hands of Minnesota.
Analysis: Hasselbeck was coming off three pretty solid games, but the Minnesota defense devoured him. In deep leagues if you own Hasselbeck you waited to the later rounds for your QB, so you are getting what you drafted. But in Week 12 Seattle travels to St. Louis. That is a good start for any QB – Hasselbeck had 279 yards and three TDs in Week 1 against the Rams, so start him and hope for a repeat performance.
Fitzpatrick passes for 297 yards, TD
Buffalo Bills QB Ryan Fitzpatrick completed 18-of-31 passes for 297 yards, one TD and two INT in Sunday's Week 11 loss at Jacksonville. The highlight of the game was a 98-yard TD score to Terrell Owens.
Analysis: Despite the solid yardage total, Fitzpatrick is not a recommended fantasy option against the Dolphins in Week 12.
Garrard passes for 215 yards, TD
Jacksonville Jaguars QB David Garrard completed 21-of-30 passes for 215 yards, one TD and one INT in Sunday's Week 11 win against the Bills. He also had a two-point conversion run and six carries for 16 yards.
Analysis: Garrard had a mediocre stat line and that's what should be expected in Week 12 at San Francisco. He is best used as a No. 2 fantasy QB in leagues which multiple signal callers.
T-Jack follows Favre’s lead, almost perfect
QB Tarvaris Jackson threw his first TD of the season on 6-of-8 passing for 77 yards in cleanup duty against Seattle in Week 11.
Analysis: Jackson has no fantasy value with the way Brett Favre is playing. But if you picked him up in FOX fantasy live, he got you a few extra points.
Wallace sees time for Seattle
Backup QB Seneca Wallace played in cleanup duty for the Seahawks in Week 11, but didn’t complete a pass.
Analysis: Wallace has no fantasy value unless Matt Hasselbeck gets injured. Even then his value will be low.
Romo manages just 158 yards, TD
Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo completed 15-of-27 passes for 158 yards, one TD and one INT in Sunday's Week 11 win against the Redskins. Romo also carried twice for four yards.
Analysis: Romo struggled mightily against the league's No. 1 passing defense until the fourth quarter when he hit WR Patrick Crayton for the game-winning TD at 2:41 of the fourth quarter. He should bounce back nicely in Week 12 on Thursday against the Raiders.
Jason Campbell goes for 256 yards
Washington Redskins QB Jason Campbell completed 24-of-37 passes for 256 yards, no TDs and one INT in Sunday's Week 11 loss at Dallas. Campbell was also sacked once.
Analysis: Campbell entered the game with at least one TD in three straight games. He is best used as a No. 2 fantasy QB in leagues which start two or more signal callers heading into Week 12 at Philadelphia.
Brady Quinn goes for four TDs
Cleveland Browns QB Brady Quinn completed 21-of-33 passes for 304 yards, four TDs and no INTs in Sunday's Week 11 shootout loss at Detroit. He also carried twice for four yards.
Analysis: B.Q. and the Browns offense moved at will, especially in the first half. However, we all know this is an anomaly and he'll come crashing back to Earth in Week 12 in Cincinnati. He wasn't even the starter in the last meeting with the Bengals.
Stafford tosses five TDs in win
Detroit Lions rookie QB Matthew Stafford was 26-of-43 for 422 yards and a career-high five TDs passes in Sunday's Week 11 zany win against Cleveland. He was picked off twice. Stafford found TE Brandon Pettigrew in the end zone with :00 after a pass interference call on a Hail Mary to give the Lions a chance from the 1-yard line on the final play of the game.
Analysis: Stafford and Brady Quinn combined for nine TD passes in this one. They had a total of 12 TD strikes between them (Quinn - 1, Stafford - 11) in 13 games entering play. Stafford is still best used as a No. 2 fantasy QB in all leagues heading into Thursday's Thanksgiving Day game against the Packers in Week 12. He missed the first meeting in Green Bay due to his kneecap injury.
Three TD passes from Alex Smith
Alex Smith completed 16 of 33 passes for 227 yards, three TDs and one INT at Green Bay Sunday.
Analysis: Smith was coming off a really bad performance at Chicago last Thursday, so the Packers defense came at the right time. The Niners host the Jaguars in Week 12, which should benefit their passing game tremendously. Consider starting Smith if your regular starter is injured.
Rodgers goes for 344 yards
Aaron Rodgers completed 32 of 45 passes for 344 yards and two touchdowns against San Francisco Sunday.
Analysis: Rodgers is a fantasy stud no matter how you look at it. The Packers will give thanks to the NFL for scheduling them to play at Detroit on Thanksgiving Day in Week 12.
Three TDs for Brees
Drew Brees complete 19 of 29 passes for 187 yards and three touchdowns at Tampa Bay Sunday. His three TDs were nice, but the yardage was his second-shortest output of the season. He was pulled in the middle of the fourth quarter with the game put away, so that Mark Brunell could get some snaps. Brees didn't throw an interception for the first time in five games.
Analysis: The Saints go from a snoozer to a big interconference matchup on Monday Night Football, when the Patriots come to town in Week 12. Brees is a must-start player each week, no matter the matchup.
Saints shut down Josh Freeman
Josh Freeman completed 17 of 33 passes for 126 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions against New Orleans Sunday.
Analysis: Freeman connected just four times with his wide receivers, mostly looking toward star TE Kellen Winslow. His longest pass was 21 yards to Antonio Bryant. Freeman is a better keeper pick than seasonal. Tampa Bay travels to Atlanta for another NFC South matchup in Week 12.
Big Ben throws two picks, gets injured in loss to Chiefs
Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger completed 32-of-42 passes for 398 yards, three TDs and two INTs in his team’s Week 11 loss to the Chiefs. Roethlisberger also suffered a head injury which head coach Mike Tomlin is saying was “concussion oriented” and was sidelined during OT of Sunday’s game.
Analysis: No official word has been made by the team in regards to Roethlisberger’s injury but he will have to pass a series of tests in order to play against Baltimore in Week 12.
Rivers steady in win
Philip Rivers didn’t have a spectacular game on Sunday, but completed 17-of-22 of his passes for 145 yards and a TD. The Chargers now sit at the top of the AFC West all by themselves.
Analysis: Rivers is a must start fantasy QB, and despite his lack of yards he did put up some fantasy points for you. In Week 12 start him against the Chiefs.
Orton doesn’t start, but finishes
Denver QB Kyle Orton didn’t start Week 11 versus San Diego, but finished the game with 171 passing yards and one INT.
Analysis: Orton has just five INTs on the year, and does have fantasy value. He’ll be on a short week, as his Broncos host the New York Giants on Thanksgiving night. Not a great matchup, but in deep leagues he is start-able.
Simms doesn’t get it done
Broncos QB Chris Simms started the game, but was taken out after going 2-of-4 for 10 yards against the Chargers.
Analysis: Simms has no fantasy value even if he gets the nod for the injured Orton.
Cassel throws third straight 200+ yards game
Chiefs QB Matt Cassel completed 15-of-30 passes for 248 yards and two TDs in Kansas City’s win over the Steelers in Week 11. This was his third consecutive game in which he threw for over 200 yards.
Analysis: Cassel doesn’t seem to be more than a QB2 when his Chiefs travel to San Diego to take on the Chargers in Week 12.
Ryan’s two fourth quarter TDs not enough
Falcons QB Matt Ryan completed 26-of-46 passes for 268 yards and two TDs in his team’s loss to the Giants in Week 11. He hit an open Tony Gonzalez for the game-tying TD in the fourth quarter, but his team lost it in OT.
Analysis: The Falcons face a Bucs defense in Week 12 that is full of holes. He could be considered a QB1.
Eli has first 300-yard performance at home
Giants QB Eli Manning started off shaky, but he completed 25-of39 passes for a career-high 384 yards and had three TDs and one INT in New York’s OT win over the Falcons.
Analysis: The Giants travel to Denver to take on the slumping Broncos in Week 12. Eli is a borderline QB1.
Running backs
Addai totals 81 yards, TD
Indianapolis Colts RB Joseph Addai carried 19 times for 74 yards and a score in Sunday's Week 11 win at Baltimore and he added a reception for seven yards.
Analysis: Addai has been strong while rookie Donald Brown was sidelined due to injury and he saw a lion's share of the carries on Sunday. He remains a must-start in all leagues heading into Week 12 at Houston. Addai had 112 total yards with a rushing and receiving TD in a Week 9 meeting with the Texans.
Marshawn Lynch has shoulder injury
Buffalo Bills RB Marshawn Lynch was forced to leave Sunday's Week 11 loss at Jacksonville due to a shoulder injury. However, NBCSports.com is reporting that he said he expected to be fine for Week 12 against the Dolphins, although he'll have a precautionary MRI on Monday.
Analysis: If Lynch cannot go next Sunday, the team would likely turn to Fred Jackson, who started the first three games this season when Lynch was serving his suspension.
Ladell Betts leaves with injury
Washington Redskins RB Ladell Betts carried four times for five yards in Sunday's Week 11 game at Dallas before leaving in the first half due to a knee injury. He was unable to return.
Analysis: The Washington Post reports that Betts has a torn medial collateral ligament in his knee and he'll have an MRI on Monday. If he and Clinton Portis (concussion) cannot go in Week 12, Rock Cartwright would likely get the start with Quinton Ganther as his backup.
Fred Jackson manages 55 total yards
Buffalo Bills RB Fred Jackson carried nine times for a team-best 35 yards and he added four grabs for 20 yards in Week 11 at Jacksonville.
Analysis: Jackson saw an increase in touches with Marshawn Lynch leaving early due to a shoulder injury. While Lynch said he expects to be fine, Jackson might be a better fantasy option in Week 12 against the Dolphins. Lynch will have a precautionary MRI on Monday. Stay tuned.
Thomas Jones goes for 103 yards
New York Jets RB Thomas Jones carried 21 times for 103 yards in Sunday's Week 11 loss at New England. He did not have any receptions.
Analysis: Jones did a surprisingly decent job against a solid rush defense on the road. He is a solid No. 2 or 3 fantasy RB or 'flex' option heading into Week 12 against the Panthers and their atrocious rush defense.
LoMo finds end zone twice
New England Patriots RB Laurence Maroney continued his strong play in Sunday's Week 11 win against the Jets, carrying 22 times for 77 yards with two rushing TDs. He did not have any receptions and he did lose one fumble.
Analysis: Maroney has re-emerged as a solid No. 2 or 3 fantasy RB or 'flex' option in most leagues. He should be a solid play in Week 12 at New Orleans for Monday Night Football in what might turn out to be a shootout.
Kevin Faulk tallies 57 total yards
New England Patriots RB Kevin Faulk had two carries for just four yards in Sunday's Week 11 win against the Jets, but he added four receptions for 53 yards.
Analysis: Faulk remains useful only to fantasy owners in deeper leagues which reward points per reception (PPR). Avoid him in standard formats for Week 12 at New Orleans.
Rock totals 140 yards in loss
Washington Redskins RB Rock Cartwright made the most of his opportunity in Week 11 at Dallas when Ladell Betts went down early with a knee injury. He had 13 carries for 67 yards and he added a game-high seven receptions for 73 yards, although he did not get into the end zone.
Analysis: Cartwright will be a big-time pickup off of the waiver wire heading into Week 12 at Philadelphia after this performance. Still, he should be counted on as nothing more than a No. 3 fantasy RB or 'flex' option.
Barber falls just short of 100
Dallas Cowboys RB Marion Barber carried 20 times for 99 yards in Sunday's Week 11 win against Washington and he added one reception for eight yards.
Analysis: For fantasy owners who get a bonus at 100 total yards, Barber helped. But for owners who needed 100 rushing yards for a bonus, they're likely a little steamed. He should have another strong day on Thanksgiving in Week 12 against the lowly Raiders.
Ray Rice runs for 71 yards
Baltimore Ravens RB Ray Rice carried 20 times for 71 yards in Sunday's Week 11 loss against the Colts. He also added 64 yards on seven receptions.
Analysis: Rice entered the game with TD runs in four straight and scores in each of his past five. He'll look to start another streak in Week 12 against the Steelers. He is best used as a low-end No. 1 or must-start No. 2 in all leagues for that difficult matchup.
Felix Jones has 11 touches
Dallas Cowboys RB Felix Jones carried 10 times for 49 yards in Sunday's Week 11 win against Washington. He also added one reception for seven yards.
Analysis: Jones remains a low-end fantasy option in most formats heading into Week 12 against the Raiders and as long as Marion Barber remains healthy.
Kevin Smith piles up 149 total yards, TD
Detroit Lions second-year RB Kevin Smith carried 12 times for just 45 yards in Sunday's Week 11 win against the Lions, but he also managed four receptions for 104 yards and a 25-yard TD score. He also had a season-high 63-yard reception.
Analysis: Smith didn't run for much, but he more than made up for that in the receiving stats. Still, he is best used as a low-end No. 2 or must-start No. 3 fantasy RB in all leagues heading into Thursday's game against the Packers. He had 15 carries for 61 yards and no catches in Week 6 at Green Bay.
Peterson produces, no TDs
Minnesota RB Adrian Peterson gained 82 yards on the ground on 24 carries and caught four balls for 16 yards in Week 11 against Seattle.
Analysis: Peterson was probably your first round pick and while he didn’t score a TD, he is always a starter for your fantasy team. If you get bonuses for carries or points per carry, Peterson still had a productive day. Next week they host the Bears, but there is no way you’ll bench AP.
RB Taylor nets 73 yards
Backup RB Chester Taylor had 11 carries for 73 yards in Sunday’s win over Seattle. He also had two catches for 12 yards.
Analysis: Taylor’s value in fantasy leagues is as insurance in case anything happens to Adrian Peterson. While he will get touches, he is not a fantasy starter.
RB Forsett averages 1-yard per carry
Seattle RB Justin Forsett carried the ball nine times, for nine yards (1-yard averaged), but managed to score the Seahawks’ lone TD in Week 11. He also had eight receptions for 80 yards in the loss.
Analysis: Forsett got the start because of the injury to Julius Jones. Forsett was nabbed up in many leagues by Jones’ owners and despite the lack of rushing yards, he managed a decent amount of points. If Jones is out an extended amount of time, Forsett’s value goes up, especially with the Rams on deck for next week.
Hawks’ RB Griffith lays an egg
Seattle RB Justin Griffith had one carry in Week 11, but he gained no yards.
Analysis: Griffith has no fantasy value and should not be picked up on the waiver wire this week.
Donald Brown back in action
Indianapolis Colts rookie RB Donald Brown had four rushes for 10 yards and he did not have any receptions in Sunday's Week 11 win at Baltimore.
Analysis: Joseph Addai did a tremendous job when Brown was sidelined and now Brown is clearly the odd-man out. Avoid him in all but the deepest of leagues for Week 12 at Houston.
McGahee totals 32 yards
Baltimore Ravens RB Willis McGahee carried six times for 25 yards and he added one reception for seven yards in Sunday's Week 11 loss against the Colts.
Analysis: McGahee has started to see touches again in the Baltimore offense, but still not enough to warrant using in fantasy football in most leagues. The Ravens host the Steelers in Week 12, so definitely avoid McGahee for that one.
Jamal Lewis active in Detroit
Cleveland Browns RB Jamal Lewis (ankle) was active for Sunday's Week 11 game at Detroit despite being limited in practice on Friday. He carried 24 times for 75 yards and added one catch for 13 yards.
Anaylsis: Despite the 88 total yards, he is still not recommended as anything more than a No. 3 fantasy RB or 'flex' option at this point. The Browns head to Cincinnati in Week 12. He missed the last meeting in Week 4 due to injury.
Chris Jennings gets 15 touches
Cleveland Browns RB Chris Jennings carried 10 time for 36 yards in Sunday's Week 11 loss at Detroit and he managed five receptions for 38 yards.
Analysis: Jennings did not have any scores, but he is clearly scoring with coach Eric Mangini. Jennings has blown past Jerome Harrison on the depth chart and it wouldn't be surprising to see him get a chance to start with the Browns sitting at 1-9. He'll have six games to prove if he has a future with the team. Fantasy owners should monitor the situation, but avoid him as a starter for now.
Tomlinson scores sixth TD of season
RB LaDainian Tomlinson rushed for 73 yards on 20 carries and scored a TD (his sixth of the season) as his Chargers rolled the Denver Broncos.
Analysis: Tomlinson is showing he is still viable fantasy producer. His production has been up of late and should continue his success against the Chiefs in Week 12.
Sproles quiet in win
San Diego RB Darren Sproles had one catch for seven yards and nine carries for 26 yards in Sunday’s win over Denver.
Analysis: Sproles was drafted as insurance, but hasn’t shown he is worth keeping on your fantasy team. He was the fourth-best RB for the Chargers on Sunday.
Rookie Moreno goes for 80 yards
Denver RB Knowshon Moreno had 80 yards on 10 carries and had one catch for six yards, but his Broncos still lost to division rival San Diego.
Analysis: Moreno is a fantasy option, but it will be a while until he is a No. 1 fantasy RB option. For now the flex position should be his slot in your fantasy lineup.
Buckhalter fails to score TD
Veteran RB Correll Buckhalter is still searching for his second rushing TD of the year, but managed 35 yards on seven carries in Week 11 against the Chargers. He did have three catches for 46 yards on the day too.
Analysis: Buckhalter is insurance if the rookie goes down or is not affective. He is Denver’s No. 2 RB, but holds little fantasy value heading into Week 12 against the Giants.
Tolbert scores first TD of season
RB Mike Tolbert had just 11 yards rushing on the season until Week 11. Tolbert had seven carries for 58 yards and a TD. He had one catch for one yard as well.
Analysis: Tolbert could take over as the No. 2 RB in San Diego if Sproles continues to regress in his production. In fantasy terms, Tolbert has very little value.
Hester triples years’ production
RB Jacob Hester rushed for 46 yards in Week 11 against the Denver Broncos. Before this week he had just 15 rushing yards.
Analysis: Hester is a nice role player for San Diego, but that doesn’t make him a fantasy role player. Leave him on the free agent list.
Jerome Harrison inactive
Cleveland Browns RB Jerome Harrison is a healthy inactive for Sunday's Week 11 game at Detroit.
Analysis: Harrison had some fantasy appeal earlier in the season, but he has now been leapfrogged by former CFLer Chris Jennings. Drop him in all leagues.
Cadillac goes for just 32 yards
Cadillac Williams rushed 11 times for 32 yards against New Orleans Sunday.
Analysis: Cadillac Williams just isn’t doing enough to be worth starting in most 12-team fantasy formats. He has three rushing TDs this season. Tampa Bay travels to Atlanta for another NFC South matchup in Week 12.
Graham finally gets some action
Earnest Graham, who has been playing mostly fullback over the past few weeks, rushed three times for 31 yards against New Orleans Sunday.
Analysis: Graham only gets a few touches per game now, but he does line up in the same backfield with Cadillac Williams. Tampa Bay travels to Atlanta for another NFC South matchup in Week 12.
Mike Bell vultures a pair of TDs
Mike Bell rushed 13 times for 75 yards, and caught a ball for five more yards, with two touchdowns at Tampa Bay Sunday. He mostly came into the game inside the 20-yard line, taking away goal-line snaps from Pierre Thomas.
Analysis: When Reggie Bush (knee) is sidelined, like he was Sunday, Bell is a decent flex player in most fantasy lineups. The Saints go from a snoozer to a big interconference matchup on Monday Night Football, when the Patriots come to town in Week 12.
Pierre Thomas comes close to 100 yards
Pierre Thomas rushed 11 times for 92 yards at Tampa Bay Sunday. He did most of his damage between the 20s, with Mike Bell vulturing a pair of TDs away from him.
Analysis: The Saints go from a snoozer to a big interconference matchup on Monday Night Football, when the Patriots come to town in Week 12. Keep Thomas active in all formats.
Ryan Grant eclipses 100 yards
Ryan Grant rushed 21 times for 129 yards and a touchdown against the Niners Sunday, for just his second 100-yard game this season.
Analysis: Grant has been steady this season, although not spectacular. A game like this every now and then makes the 60-yard games look better. The Packers will give thanks to the NFL for scheduling them to play at Detroit on Thanksgiving Day in Week 12. Grant rushed for 90 yards against the Lions in Week 6.
Just 10 touches for Gore
Frank Gore rushed just seven times for 59 yards, to go with three catches for nine yards and a touchdown, at Green Bay Sunday.
Analysis: The Niners were playing from behind for most of the game, though, so they had to go to the passing game early. Gore remains a solid fantasy starter in Week 12. The Niners host the Jaguars in Week 12, which should benefit their passing game tremendously.
Mendenhall has big game in loss to Chiefs
Steelers RB Rashard Mendenhall rushed 21 times for 80 yards, had four receptions for 36 yards and a TD in Pittsburgh’s OT loss to Kansas City.
Analysis: Fantasy owners should use Mendenhall as a RB2 against the Ravens in Week 12.
Jackson runs for fifth straight 1,000 yard season
Rams RB Steven Jackson became the first RB in franchise history to rush for over 1,000 yards in five straight seasons. He finished Sunday’s win over the Bears with 116 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries.
Analysis: Not only is he the best player on the Rams, he also has the most fantasy value of anyone of that team and remains a must-start from week to week.
McCoy flirts with 100 yards
Eagles rookie RB LeSean McCoy rushed for 99 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries in Sunday’s win over the Bears.
Analysis: McCoy did splendid in Brian Westbrook’s absence, further cementing his future as Westbrook 2.0 for fantasy purposes. If Westbrook is not back in Week 12, McCoy will be getting the bulk of the carries again against a poor Redskins defense.
Beanie bangs in another score
Cardinals rookie RB Beanie Wells rushed 14 times for 74 yards and a touchdown in Sunday’s win over the Rams.
Analysis: Wells has come on as of late as a good No. 2 fantasy RB and faces a favorable Titans defense in Week 12.
Hightower goes for over 100
Cardinals RB Tim Hightower rushed 14 times for 110 yards in Sunday’s win over the Rams.
Analysis: Hightowers’ value comes mainly from his goal-line prowess and his pass-catching ability. He can still put up numbers with rookie Beanie Wells sharing the load and has a favorable matchup against the Titans in Week 12.
Rookie Bell takes first career carry for big yardage
Bears rookie RB Kahlil Bell took his first NFL career for 72 yards and finished the game with four carried for 81 yards in Sunday’s loss to the Eagles.
Analysis: Bell was activated this week, because the Bears were lacking depth at the RB position. Don’t read too much into his yardage total. His carry total should be what you should look into, since it’s more indicative of how many touches he’ll get.
Forte has another disappointing outing
Bears RB Matt Forte rushed 14 times for 34 yards in Sunday’s loss to the Eagles.
Analysis: Forte continues to be a disappointment to all those fantasy owners who picked him in the first round (i.e. all of them). Expect the disappointment to continue next week as he faces a tough Vikings defense.
Charles has 97-yard kickoff return
Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles rushed 17 times for 58 yards and caught two passes for eight yards and had a TD in his team’s OT win over the Steelers in Week 11. He started the game with a 97-yard kickoff return for the Chiefs.
Analysis: Charles has proven himself and can be considered a solid RB against the Chargers in Week 12.
Snelling shines in place of Turner
Falcons RB Jason Snelling rushed 25 times for 76 yards and had two TDs in Atlanta’s OT loss to the Giants in Week 11.
Analysis: If RB Michael Turner (ankle) is out in Week 12 against the Bucs, Snelling is a great start in his place.
Jacobs sidelined late in third quarter with injury
Giants RB Brandon Jacobs posted 12 carries for 39 yards and a TD, including two receptions for 13 yards in Week 11 before he was sidelined for the last few minutes of the third quarter and never returned due to an apparent knee injury.
Analysis: The team hasn’t commented on how serious the injury is, but as of now it looks like there is no reason Jacobs shouldn’t start in Week 12 against Denver.
Bradshaw picks up late carries
Giants RB Ahmad Bradshaw rushed 12 times for 34 yards against the Falcons in Week 11. He picked up late carries when Brandon Jacobs was sidelined in the third quarter.
Analysis: Bradshaw hasn’t topped 50 yards since Week 5 and his lingering foot/ankle injury is preventing him from being explosive in the game.
Shonn Greene goes backwards
New York Jets rookie RB Shonn Greene carried three times for minus-1 yard in Sunday's Week 11 game at New England and he did not have any receptions.
Analysis: It's never positive when you gain three more feet than your fantasy RB. Avoid him in all leagues or cut him completely heading into Week 12 against Carolina.
Wide receivers
Reggie Wayne goes for 89 yards
Indianapolis Colts WR Reggie Wayne had seven receptions for 89 yards in Sunday's Week 11 win at Baltimore, but he did not get into the end zone.
Analysis: Wayne has seven or more receptions in five straight games since the team's bye in Week 6. He remains a must-start in all leagues heading into Week 12 at Houston. He had eight receptions for 64 yards in the first meeting in Week 9.
Mason tallies 142 yards
Baltimore Ravens veteran WR Derrick Mason had nine receptions for a season-high 142 yards in Sunday's Week 11 loss against Indianapolis.
Analysis: The game was just the second time over 100 yards for Mason, who has now gone a season-high three games without a TD catch. In 2008, he had 11 receptions for 160 yards in two games against the Steelers, Baltimore's Week 12 opponent. He is a solid No. 3 or 4 fantasy WR or 'flex' option for that one.
Terrell Owens finally blows up
Buffalo Bills WR Terrell Owens had nine receptions for 197 yards in Sunday's Week 11 loss at Jacksonville and his day was highlighted by a 98-yard TD grab.
Analysis: By this point of the season, a majority of fantasy owners for T.O. likely had him scoring all of those points on their bench. He should be a solid fantasy option in Week 12 against the Dolphins, a team with a leaky pass defense. Owens had three catches for 60 yards in the first meeting in Week 4 in Miami.
Welker manages 192 receiving yards
New England Patriots WR Wes Welker had a season-high 15 receptions for 192 yards in Sunday's Week 11 win against the Jets, although he didn't find the end zone. He also had a rush for 11 yards.
Analysis: Welker has nine or more receptions in five consecutive games and he has 79 grabs in just eight games. He might be close to his third consecutive 100-catch season already had he not missed two games earlier in the year due to injury. He should be a busy guy again in Week 12 at New Orleans, so start him in all fantasy leagues.
Sims-Walker finds end zone again
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker had team-highs of eight receptions and 91 yards with a touchdown in Sunday's Week 11 win against the Bills.
Analysis: Sims-Walker has scored in a season-high three straight games and he has six TD grabs overall in his past nine. He has emerged as a solid low-end No. 1 or must-start No. 2 fantasy WR in all leagues heading into Week 12 at San Francisco.
Calvin Johnson posts 161 yards, TD
Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson had a game-high seven receptions for a career-high 161 yards and a TD in Sunday's Week 11 win against the Browns. The highlight of the game was his 75-yards scoring reception, the second-longest of his career.
Analysis: In case you were wondering, Megatron had a 96-yard score in Week 7 at Houston in 2008. He also had his previous career-best in that game with 154 yards. Needless to say, Johnson remains a must-start in all fantasy leagues heading into Week 12 against the Packers on Thanksgiving. He did not play in the first meeting between those teams in Green Bay due to a knee ailment.
Randy Moss manages a score
New England Patriots WR Randy Moss had just five receptions for 34 yards in Sunday's Week 11 win against the Jets, but at least he managed to find the end zone.
Analysis: Moss has scored at least one TD in three straight games, posting a total of four scores during the span. He also has seven TDs over his past five outings. Needless to say, he remains a must-start in all fantasy leagues heading into Week 12 at New Orleans.
Cotchery in the end zone again
New York Jets WR Jerricho Cotchery had three receptions for 84 yards, including a 29-yard TD reception, in Sunday's Week 11 loss at New England.
Analysis: Cotchery has managed 68 or more yardage in seven of his eight games this season, including in each of his past three games since returning from a hamstring injury. He remains a solid No. 3 or 4 fantasy WR or 'flex' option as a result. The Jets host the Panthers in Week 12.
Chansi Stuckey totals 76 yards, TD
Cleveland Browns WR Chansi Stuckey posted five receptions for 76 yards and a TD in Sunday's Week 11 loss at Detroit.
Analysis: The performance was by far his most impressive with the Browns seeing that he had just one grab for 11 yards in his first four games with the team and he was inactive in Week 10. Still, he is only worth a look in the deepest of fantasy leagues heading into Week 12 at Cincinnati.
Braylon Edwards held to one catch
New York Jets WR Braylon Edwards had just one reception for 10 yards in Sunday's Week 11 loss at New England.
Analysis: After a brilliant start to his career with the Jets, Edwards is back to the form which had him run out of Cleveland on a rail. He has three or fewer catches in four of his past five games. Consider him more of a No. 3 or 4 fantasy WR or 'flex' option in Week 12 against Carolina, a team with a stout pass D.
Cribbs active, able to score
Cleveland Browns WR/KR Joshua Cribbs (neck) was able to play in Sunday's Week 11 game at Detroit. He had two grabs for 39 yards and a TD and he also returned three kicks for 18 yards.
Analysis: Surprisingly, Cribbs was able to play after a crushing blow on the final play of Monday's Week 10 loss against Baltimore forced him to the hospital. Even more surprising, Cribbs was better in the receiving game than the return game. He is still best used as a No. 4 fantasy WR in deeper leagues heading into Week 12 at Cincinnati, although he is solid in formats which reward individual return yards.
Miles Austin has four grabs
Dallas Cowboys WR Miles Austin posted a team-best four receptions for 47 yards in Sunday's Week 11 win against Washington.
Analysis: Austin has managed just eight total catches over the past three games and he has gone two straight without a score. Treat him as more of a low-end No. 2 or must-start No. 3 fantasy WR heading into Week 12 against the Raiders.
Roy E. Williams blanked in Week 11
Dallas Cowboys WR Roy E. Williams was targeted four times in Sunday's Week 11 win against the Redskins, but he did not record any catches.
Analysis: Williams appeared to be making plenty of progress in the Dallas offense, but he took one huge step backwards on Sunday. He remains useful only as a No. 3 or 4 fantasy WR or 'flex' option in Week 12 for the Thanksgiving game against the Raiders.
Lee Evans very disappointing
Buffalo Bills WR Lee Evans managed just one reception for 15 yards in Sunday's Week 11 loss at Jacksonville.
Analysis: Evans was unable to carry over the momentum for his two-TD game last week in Tennessee. Evans is still a solid No. 2 or 3 fantasy WR or 'flex' option heading into Week 12 against the Dolphins.
Crayton makes most of his catch
Dallas Cowboys WR Patrick Crayton had just one catch in Week 11 against the Redskins, but it was good for a 10-yard touchdown.
Analysis: Despite the fact Crayton broke his three-game scoreless streak, avoid Crayton in all but the deepest of fantasy leagues heading into Week 12 against the Raiders.
Holt, Thomas do very little
Jacksonville Jaguars veteran WR Torry Holt managed three grabs for just 31 yards in Sunday's Week 11 win against Buffalo. Meanwhile, Mike Thomas was good for two catches for only three yards.
Analysis: Both of the receivers are different in terms of age, but they have one commonality - they shouldn't be used in most fantasy leagues heading into Week 12 at San Francisco.
Randle El has five receptions
Washington Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El had five receptions for 45 yards in Sunday's Week 11 loss at Dallas.
Analysis: Sadly, this is one of Randle El's better performances since the opening game. He is only worth a look as a No. 4 fantasy WR or 'flex' option in the deepest of formats in Week 12 at Philadelphia.
Santana Moss had five grabs
Washington Redskins WR Santana Moss managed five catches for 38 yards in Sunday's Week 11 setback against the Cowboys in Dallas.
Analysis: After a solid run earlier in the season, Moss had now gone six straight games without a TD reception. He is only worth a look as a No. 4 WR or 'flex' option in leagues of 12 or more teams heading into Week 12 at Philadelphia. He had six grabs for 74 yards in the first meeting with the Eagles in Week 7.
Josh Reed totals three catches
Buffalo Bills WR Josh Reed managed three receptions for 40 yards in Sunday's Week 11 loss at Jacksonville.
Analysis: Reed has two or more receptions in four straight games, but the yardage total was his best since Week 3 when he turned in a season-best 60 yards against the Saints. Avoid him in all but the deepest of fantasy leagues heading into Week 12 against Miami.
Vikings’ Rice feels the love
WR Sidney Rice was targeted seven times, catching six of them for 89 yards and two TDs in Sunday’s win. He caught a TD pass from Brett Favre and Tarvaris Jackson.
Analysis: Rice has been a steal this season and has cemented himself as Favre’s No. 1 target. The young WR is a legit fantasy option in all formats.
Rookie gets 4th TD reception
Minnesota WR Percy Harvin had five catches for 79 yards and his fourth receiving TD of his young career in the Vikings 35-9 win over the Seahawks.
Analysis: Harvin is a rookie that has been producing this season and has value as a No. 3 WR or flex player on a weekly basis.
Burleson hits century mark
Seattle WR Nate Burleson had 100 yards receiving in the Seahawks loss to the Vikings in Week 11, his second 100-yard receiving game of the season.
Analysis: Burleson is proving to be a nice acquisition off the waiver wire as he is emerging as the go-to guy in Seattle for Matt Hasselbeck. He has just three TDs this season, but his next game is against St. Louis where he gained 74 yards and a TD back in Week 1. Start him and look for another nice performance.
Housh nabs four balls
Seahawks WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh had four catches for 36 yards in Sunday’s loss to Minnesota.
Analysis: Housh has the same number of TDs as Burleson, but he also has some fumbles to go along in his stat line this season. He was a big acquisition for Seattle, but thus far is not paying off like they hoped. His fantasy value is that of a No. 3 WR in most fantasy leagues, although you probably drafted him to be your No. 2.
Veteran WR Berrian scores for Vikes
Minnesota WR Bernard Berrian had two catches for 11 yards and a score in Week 11, notching his fourth TD of the season.
Analysis: Coming into the season Berrian was thought to be the No. 1 WR, but has taken the backseat to the young guys – Sidney Rice and Percy Harvin. Berrian still has some fantasy value, but is likely a free agent in most leagues.
Branch averaged 15-yards
Seattle WR Deion Branch had one catch for 15 yards, which is a good average, but that is all he did all game.
Analysis: Branch doesn’t have much fantasy value in most leagues. In a Salary Cap challenge he could be a cheap supplement for you, but even then he probably isn’t worth the $4.
Austin Collie nearly invisible
Indianapolis Colts rookie WR Austin Collie managed just one reception for 12 yards in Sunday's Week 11 win at Baltimore.
Analysis: Pierre Garcon was the No. 2 wide receiver of choice for QB Peyton Manning. Collie is best used as a No. 4 fantasy WR or 'flex' option heading into Week 12 at Houston in deeper leagues only.
Clayton, Washington do little
Baltimore Ravens WRs Mark Clayton and Kelley Washington each had just one catch in Sunday's Week 11 loss against the Colts. Clayton went for 10 yards while Washington managed just eight.
Analysis: Neither receiver is a recommended fantasy option for a difficult matchup in Week 12 against the Steelers.
WR Bryant active vs. New Orleans
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Antonio Bryant (knee) is active for Sunday's Week 11 game against the Saints.
Analysis: Bryant's meaning is much more to his real team than to fantasy owners at this point, as he has rookie QB Josh Freeman under center. Only consider him as a No. 4 fantasy receiver or 'flex' option in the deepest of leagues.
Garcon solid against Baltimore
Indianapolis Colts WR Pierre Garcon (ankle) was active for Sunday's Week 11 game at Baltimore. He posted six receptions for a team-high 108 yards.
Analysis: He had been listed as questionable on the official injury report, but Garcon had practiced in full on Thursday and Friday. It appears safe to get him in the active fantasy lineup for Week 12 at Houston. He had five grabs for 60 yards in the first meeting with the Texans in Week 9.
Northcutt, Johnson do very little
Detroit Lions WRs Dennis Northcutt and Bryant Johnson did very little in Sunday's Week 11 win against the Browns. Northcutt, facing his former team, had three grabs for 17 yards. Johnson posted 23 yards on two catches.
Analysis: If these two didn't go off like everyone else in a 38-37 shootout, they never will. Avoid them on all fantasy rosters heading into Thursday's Week 12 game againt the Packers.
Crabtree tallies his first NFL TD
Michael Crabtree caught four passes for 77 yards and a touchdown at Green Bay Sunday. He was targeted six times to lead San Fran wide receivers.
Analysis: Crabtree came into the game with a knee injury too. This was his best fantasy outing to date. The Niners host the Jaguars in Week 12, which should benefit their passing game tremendously.
Healthy Isaac Bruce comes off bench
Isaac Bruce made just one catch for 20 yards at Green Bay Sunday. Josh Morgan started in his place, despite Bruce being healthy again.
Analysis: Bruce’s best fantasy days are behind him, and he’s no longer worth using in most formats, as the Niners host the Jaguars in Week 12.
Josh Morgan starts again
Josh Morgan caught just one pass for five yards, despite being in the starting lineup again, at Green Bay Sunday.
Analysis: Morgan doesn’t do enough to warrant starting in fantasy leagues at this point, even though the Niners host the Jaguars in Week 12, which should benefit their passing game tremendously.
Four grabs for James Jones
James Jones caught four passes for 22 yards against the Niners Sunday.
Analysis: Jones is a hit-or-miss kinda player. The Packers will give thanks to the NFL for scheduling them to play at Detroit on Thanksgiving Day in Week 12. We suggest using him as a WR4.
Quiet day for Driver
Donald Driver caught five passes for 40 yards against San Francisco Sunday.
Analysis: The Packers will give thanks to the NFL for scheduling them to play at Detroit on Thanksgiving Day in Week 12. Keep Drive active, as he caught seven passes for 107 yards against the Lions in Week 6.
Jennings scores vs. Niners
Greg Jennings caught five passes for 126 yards and a touchdown against San Francisco Sunday.
Analysis: Jennings is a solid fantasy starter every week. The Packers will give thanks to the NFL for scheduling them to play at Detroit on Thanksgiving Day in Week 12. He caught six passes for 64 yards against them in Week 6.
Nelson tallies a TD Sunday
Jordy Nelson caught three passes for 21 yards and a touchdown against San Francisco Sunday.
Analysis: Nelson isn’t consistent enough to warrant starting in fantasy play. The Packers will give thanks to the NFL for scheduling them to play at Detroit on Thanksgiving Day in Week 12.
Five catches for Colston
Marques Colston caught five passes for 74 yards at Tampa Bay Sunday.
Analysis: Colston made some big catches over the middle – and took some even bigger hits. The Saints go from a snoozer to a big interconference matchup on Monday Night Football, when the Patriots come to town in Week 12. This week’s output was much better than last week’s negative output. Keep him active.
Two catches, two TDs for Meachem
Robert Meachem caught just two passes for 10 yards – and two touchdowns at Tampa Bay Sunday.
Analysis: Meachem makes his catches count, that’s for sure. The Saints go from a snoozer to a big interconference matchup on Monday Night Football, when the Patriots come to town in Week 12. Meachem is a better flex in deeper leagues this week.
Minus-2 yards receiving for Henderson
Devery Henderson caught just one pass, but for minus-two yards, at Tampa Bay Sunday.
Analysis: Henderson lost touches again to Robert Meachem, who caught a pair of TDs. The Saints go from a snoozer to a big interconference matchup on Monday Night Football, when the Patriots come to town in Week 12. Keep Henderson reserved.
Stroughter goes without a catch
Sammie Stroughter was thrown to twice against New Orleans Sunday, but he was unable to make any catches.
Analysis: Stroughter has been a solid rookie receiver for the Bucs, but he’s not worth starting in fantasy play. Tampa Bay travels to Atlanta for another NFC South matchup in Week 12.
Antonio Bryant makes three grabs
Antonio Bryant caught three passes for 40 yards against New Orleans Sunday.
Analysis: Bryant is still trying to come back from a knee injury, but this Bucs passing attack will not do his fantasy owners any favors. Tampa Bay travels to Atlanta for another NFC South matchup in Week 12. Bryant caught eight passes for 108 yards and a touchdown the last time he played in Atlanta – but that ’08 team was much different than this one.
Ward was Ben’s go-to receiver in loss to Chiefs
Steelers WR Hines Ward was targeted 14 times by QB Ben Roethlisberger in h is team’s Week 11 loss to the Chiefs. Ward finished the day with 10 catches for 128 yards and one TD.
Analysis: Against a 13th ranked passing defense in Baltimore, Ward can be considered a WR2 in Week 12.
Holmes has 20 catches in last three games
Pittsburgh WR Santonio Holmes caught seven passes for 86 yards in the Steelers Week 11 loss to the Chiefs. In his first six games, Holmes had 21 catches compared to the 20 he’s had in the last three games.
Analysis: Holmes has yet to score a TD since Week 1 and seems due to score against Baltimore in Week 12.
Chambers posts over 100 yards in win
Chiefs WR Chris Chambers caught four passes for 119 yards in his team’s OT win over the Steelers in Week 11.
Analysis: Chambers has averaged 83 yards in three games since being claimed on waivers, but will face a tough Chargers defense in Week 12.
Manningham led Giants in receiving yards
WR Mario Manningham had six receptions for 126 yards in the Giants’ win over the Falcons in OT in Week 11. This was Manningham’s second straight week with six receptions.
Analysis: Facing the Broncos in Week 12, Manningham can be considered a WR3 once again.
Smith targeted eight times in Giants win
WR Steve Smith caught four passes for 79 yards after being targeted eight times by Eli Manning in the Giants OT win over the Falcons.
Analysis: Smith can remain a WR2 against the Broncos in Week 12.
V-Jack paces Chargers with 56 yards
WR Vincent Jackson had four catches for 56 yards to lead the team in receiving in their Week 11 win over the Broncos.
Analysis: Jackson has gone through streaks this season where he doesn’t have a TD catch. Fortunately for V-Jack owners the skid lasts two games (Week 11 being his second) and next week San Diego faces Kansas City. Jackson put up 142 yards and a score in their first meeting of the season.
Forgetting about Marshall?
Denver WR Brandon Marshall was thrown to nine times, but had just three catches for 26 yards in Week 11 as his Broncos lost to the Chargers.
Analysis: This was the third time this season when he didn’t make it to 30 yards receiving. The Giants are a tough matchup for Marshall and the Broncos for Week 12, but based on his output against other NFC East foes he is a good start – nine catches for 225 yards and three rushing TDs against Dallas and Washington.
Still no TDs for Royal
Second-year WR Eddie Royal had four catches for 29 yards in Week 11 as Denver lost to San Diego.
Analysis: Talk about a sophomore slump. Royal hasn’t found the end zone yet this season, which makes his fantasy value very low.
Floyd puts up 38 yards
Chargers WR Malcom Floyd had four catches for 38 yards in Sunday’s division win over the Broncos.
Analysis: Floyd has one TD on the season, but that TD came against San Diego’s Week 12 opponent (Kansas City.) That doesn’t mean he is worth picking up for your fantasy team, but just food for thought.
WR Naanee grabs 2nd TD of year
San Diego WR Legedu Naanee had one catch for two yards in Week 11, but that catch was his second of the year for the young receiver.
Analysis: Naanee had little fantasy value in most formats, but could be a nice buy in Salary Cap challenges.
Gaffney targeted often, catches little
Veteran WR Jabar Gaffney had nine targets in Week 11, but managed just three catches in the Broncos loss to the Chargers. He finished with 55 yards receiving to lead the Broncos.
Analysis: Gaffney has yet to find the end zone this season, and that is why he is a free agent in most fantasy leagues.
Michael Clayton scores a TD
Michael Clayton’s only catch in Sunday’s game against New Orleans was good for an 18-yard touchdown reception.
Analysis: Clayton still isn’t worth using in fantasy play. Tampa Bay travels to Atlanta for another NFC South matchup in Week 12.

Tight ends
Heap active against Indianapolis
Baltimore Ravens TE Todd Heap (ribs) was active for Sunday's Week 11 game against Indianapolis. He was able to amass just 15 yards on two receptions.
Analysis: Despite the poor performance, Heap is still a low-end No. 1 or solid No. 2 fantasy TE in most formats heading into Week 12 against the Steelers.
Santi emerges as useful target
Indianapolis Colts TE Tom Santi had his first six receptions for the season for 80 yards in Sunday's Week 11 win at Baltimore.
Analysis: Santi earned the trust of QB Peyton Manning with some nice early catches, but he also fumbled near the goal line and then was not heard from again. Despite the solid yardage total and targets, avoid Santi in all fantasy leagues heading into Week 12 at Houston.
Dallas Clark does little despite TD
Indianapolis Colts TE Dallas Clark's only reception in Week 11 at Baltimore was good for a three-yard score. Clark was targeted just three times, as most of the TE looks surprisingly went to Tom Santi. With his reception, Clark broke a tie with John Mackey for the all-time franchise lead in receptions by a TE (321).
Analysis: Clark will look to rebound in Week 12 at Houston. He had a season-high 14 receptions for 119 yards in Week 9 against the Texans in the first meeting. He has now gone a season-long three games without a TD, but remains a must-start in all fantasy leagues.
Vikes’ TE scores seventh TD of season
Minnesota TE Visanthe Shiancoe caught his seventh TD pass of the season in Sunday’s blowout win over Seattle. He was targeted 10 times, and caught eight of them for 78 yards.
Analysis: In Minnesota’s offense, Shiancoe is looked at often in the red zone by Brett Favre. He is a fantasy TE in all leagues.
Marcedes Lewis totals 70 yards
Jacksonville Jaguars TE Marcedes Lewis had three receptions for 70 yards in Sunday's Week 11 win againt the Bills, including a season-long 35-yard grab.
Analysis: Lewis entered play with a total of five receptions over his past four games, so don't put too much stock into this performance. He remains best left to the waiver wire heading into Week 12 at San Francisco.
No grabs for Patriots' TEs
The New England Patriots TEs of Benjamin Watson and Chris Baker did not factor into the offense in Week 11 against the Jets, as neither had a reception or even one target.
Analysis: Watson has found the end zone on occasion, but his production remains too sporadic to be relied upon in anything but the deepest of fantasy leagues. Avoid Watson and Baker in Week 12 at New Orleans.
Keller has marginal stat line
New York Jets TE Dustin Keller posted three receptions for just 38 yards in Sunday's Week 11 loss at New England.
Analysis: Keller's yardage total was his worst since Week 7. He also has just one TD grab over his past eight games dating all the way to Week 2. He is more of a No. 2 fantasy TE heading into Week 12 against Carolina, a team with a surprisingly decent pass defense.
Carlson = junk in Week 11
TE John Carlson was targeted four times in Sunday’s loss to the Vikings, but the young Seattle TE failed to catch anything.
Analysis: Carlson is a fantasy caliber TE, but this performance is very disappointing.
Shawn Nelson has one grab
Buffalo Bills TE Shawn Nelson had just one reception for 25 yards in Sunday's Week 11 loss at Jacksonville.
Analysis: Nelson broke through with a score in Week 1 at New England, but he has been injured and done next to nothing when he has been active. Leave him to the waiver wire in Week 12 and beyond.
Gaines finds the end zone
Cleveland Browns TE Michael Gaines had two grabs for five yards, including a TD, in Sunday's Week 11 loss at Detroit.
Analysis: Despite the score, Gaines is not someone to use in fantasy football. The Browns head to Cincinnati in Week 12.
Pettigrew has game-winning score
Detroit Lions rookie TE Brandon Pettigrew posted six receptions for 72 yards, including the game-winning TD with no time remaining in regulation, in Sunday's Week 11 win against the Browns.
Analysis: The rookie has been sharp, posting 15 grabs for 165 yards and two TDs over his past three games. He is worth a look as a low-end No. 1 fantasy TE in Week 12 against the Packers.
TE Heller totals 12 yards, TD
Detroit Lions TE Will Heller managed a pair of receptions for 12 yards and a TD in Sunday's Week 11 win against Cleveland.
Analysis: Heller has TDs in back-to-back games, but his fantasy appeal is limited to the deepest of fantasy leagues which require at least two TEs. The Lions host the Packers in Week 12. Heller had one grab for 22 yards in the first meeting in Week 6.
Winslow targeted plenty by Freeman
Kellen Winslow Jr. caught five passes for 29 yards, despite being targeted by rookie QB Josh Freeman 13 times Sunday against New Orleans.
Analysis: Winslow is still a decent fantasy player, despite this passing attack, because Freeman loves going to him. Tampa Bay travels to Atlanta for another NFC South matchup in Week 12.
TE Dave Thomas targeted plenty in Wk 11
Dave Thomas caught four passes for 66 yards at Tampa Bay Sunday. He was thrown to six times – second-most on the team.
Analysis: The Saints go from a snoozer to a big interconference matchup on Monday Night Football, when the Patriots come to town in Week 12. But as the Saints’ No. 2 tight end, he’s not worth starting in fantasy just yet.
Quiet Shockey at Bucs
Jeremy Shockey caught just two passes for 17 yards at Tampa Bay Sunday.
Analysis: The Saints go from a snoozer to a big interconference matchup on Monday Night Football, when the Patriots come to town in Week 12. Consider starting Shockey again this week, despite his recent lull (eight catches for 85 yards in his past three games).
Finley leads Packers with seven catches
TE Jermichael Finley caught seven passes for 54 yards against San Francisco Sunday.
Analysis: Finley was targeted a team-high 10 times. The Packers will give thanks to the NFL for scheduling them to play at Detroit on Thanksgiving Day in Week 12. Start Finley this week.
Vernon Davis thrown to a dozen times
Vernon Davis caught six passes for 108 yards and a touchdown at Green Bay Sunday. Alex Smith targeted Davis 12 times to lead the team.
Analysis: Davis is having a monster season and he looks like he’ll finish as one of the top three fantasy tight ends. The Niners host the Jaguars in Week 12, which should benefit their passing game tremendously.
Fred Davis held to 24 yards
Washington Redskins TE Fred Davis posted two grabs for 24 yards in Sunday's Week 11 loss at Dallas.
Analysis: Davis was a surprise in place of the injured Chris Cooley (ankle/foot) in Week 7 with 78 yards and a TD, but he has just eight catches for 100 yards and no scores in three games since. He is best left to the waiver wire heading into Week 12 despite the fact he faces Philadelphia again in Week 12.
Witten average again in Week 11
Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten managed five receptions for 43 yards in Sunday's Week 11 win against the Redskins.
Analysis: Witten has now gone eight consecutive games without a TD since his only score of the season in Week 2 against the Giants. He is more of a low-end No. 1 fantasy option heading into Week 12 against the lowly Raiders on Thanksgiving.
Miller flirts with a 100-yard game
Steelers TE Heath Miller caught seven passes for 95 yards and a TD against the Chiefs in Week 11. Miller has a career-high 54 receptions.
Analysis: Miller was unable to find the end zone in Week 10 against the Bengals who rank 21st in the league’s passing defense. The Steelers will face a 13th ranked passing defense in the Ravens next week.
Pope sparks Chiefs comeback
Chiefs TE Leonard Pope caught a 21-yard TD pass to start a comeback for Kansas City. Pope finished the day with two catches for 26 yards and one TD.
Analysis: Pope is not going to be a fantasy option against the Chargers in Week 12.
Gonzalez catches game-tying TD
Falcons TE Tony Gonzalez caught eight passes for 87 yards, including the game-tying TD in the closing seconds of the fourth quarter in Week 11. Unfortunately for him, Atlanta lost in OT.
Analysis: Gonzalez has five TDs on the season and is a solid start against the Bucs in Week 12.
Who’s the Boss? Kevin, that’s who
Giants TE Kevin Boss caught five passes for a career-high 76 yards and two TDs in his team’s OT win over the Falcons in Week 11.
Analysis: Coming off his best three fantasy games of the season, Boss looks like he might be a TE2 once again against the Broncos in Week 12.
Gates gets 41 yards
San Diego TE Antonio Gates had three catches for 41 yards in Week 11, as the Chargers beat the Broncos to take the division lead.
Analysis: No matter what, Gates is a starting fantasy TE. Remember that and make sure you have him in next week against the Chiefs.
Tony S. has one catch
Denver TE Tony Scheffler had one catch for 12 yards in the Week 11 loss to San Diego.
Analysis: The Broncos TE has just two TDs on the season and doesn’t have a favorable matchup for Week 12. If you have another option definitely go that route. If you start two TEs, Scheffler does have a little more fantasy value.
Kickers
Cundiff pays instant dividends
The Baltimore Ravens signed K Billy Cundiff mid-week to take over for the ineffective Steven Hauschka. He stepped in and booted five field goals (46, 44, 38, 36, 20).
Analysis: Cundiff also saw action earlier this season for the Browns. Despite the huge day, he is still not a recommended fantasy kicker in most leagues for Week 12 against the Steelers.
Gostkowski goes for seven points
New England Patriots K Stephen Gostkowski made 1-of-2 field goal attempts and he added four extra points in Sunday's Week 11 win against the Jets.
Analysis: Gostkowski is already up to 90 points on the season and he has seven or more points in eight of his 10 games this season. He mains a top fantasy kicker heading into Week 12 at New Orleans in what might be a shootout on Monday Night Football.
Stover goes for five points
Indianapolis Colts K Matt Stover booted a 25-yard field goal and he added two extra points in Week 11 at Baltimore, his former team.
Analysis: Stover is a must-start in all fantasy leagues as long as he remains with the high-octane Indianapolis offense. The Colts meet the Texans in Week 12 on the road.
Just one point for Folk
Dallas Cowboys K Nick Folk was good for just one extra point in Sunday's Week 11 win against the Redskins. He misfired on his only field goal attempt.
Analysis: Folk, considered one of the top fantasy options not long ago, is not getting enough opportunities to be relied upon from a week-to-week basis. However, he might be a solid play in Week 12 against the lowly Raiders in a potentially high-scoring game, even for the struggling Cowboys.
Mare boots FG in loss
It was such a beat-down on Sunday that Seattle K Olindo Mare didn’t even get a chance to get the extra point as the Seahawks went for the two-point conversion. Mare did connect for a 40-yard field goal on the day though.
Analysis: Mare barely kept his job in Seattle, and shouldn’t be your fantasy K in any league. Unless you bought him for $3 in the Salary Cap challenge, then he was useful.
Longwell boots five XPs
Minnesota K Ryan Longwell hit all five of his extra point attempts in Week 11.
Analysis: Longwell is a fantasy kicker worth having. He’s missed just one field goal all year and has hit all 32 of his XP attempts.
Lindell totals nine points
Buffalo Bills K Rian Lindell did not have any extra points in Sunday's Week 11 loss at Jacksonville, but he booted three field goals (26, 28, 22).
Analysis: The struggles of the Buffalo offense were the gain of Lindell and his fantasy owners. He remains useful only when the team faces a favorable matchup, such as they do in Week 12 against the Dolphins.
Scobee manages four points
Jacksonville Jaguars K Josh Scobee booted a 29-yard field goal and he added an extra point in Sunday's Week 11 win against the Bills.
Analysis: Scobee is best used as a fantasy option only when the matchup is favorable and your primary option has a difficult game. The Jags hit the road for San Francisco in Week 12.
Suisham totals six points
Washington Redskins K Shaun Suisham made 2-of-4 field goal attempts in Sunday's Week 11 loss at Dallas and he did not get to attempt any extra points.
Analysis: Suisham might be looking for a job, as if he makes both of those FGs, the result of the game might be in Washington's favor. Avoid him in all fantasy leagues in Week 12 at Philadelphia.
Hanson totals eight points
Detroit Lions K Jason Hanson had a 31-yard field goal and five extra points in Sunday's Week 11 win against Cleveland.
Analysis: Despite the solid performance Hanson is still only worth a look in the deepest of fantasy leagues or when the matchup is extremely favorable. The Lions host the Packers on Thanksgiving in Week 12. Hanson did not have any points in the first meeting in Week 6 at Green Bay.
Dawson good for nine-point day
Cleveland Browns K Phil Dawson had a pair of field goals (44, 29) to go along with three extra points in Sunday's Week 11 loss at Detroit.
Analysis: Dawson had been blanked in each of his past two games, so he is not worth using in most fantasy leagues in Week 12 at Cincinnati despite the big day against the Lions. He missed the first meeting with the Bengals in Week 4 due to his right calf injury.
Nedney solid from 46 yards out
Joe Nedney made a 46-yard field goal, along with three extra points at Green Bay Sunday.
Analysis: Nedney doesn’t get enough field-goal opportunities to be worth starting in most fantasy leagues. The Niners host the Jaguars in Week 12.
Three short field goals for Crosby
Mason Crosby was successful on all three field goals (23, 27, 27) and both extra-point attempts against San Francisco Sunday.
Analysis: Crosby is a very good fantasy kicker, week in and week out. The Packers will give thanks to the NFL for scheduling them to play at Detroit on Thanksgiving Day in Week 12.
Five extra points for Carney
John Carney was good on a 38-yard field goal and all five extra points in Sunday’s win at Tampa Bay.
Analysis: The Saints go from a snoozer to a big interconference matchup on Monday Night Football, when the Patriots come to town in Week 12. The scoring shouldn’t be as easy for the Saints, so some of those extra points might be field goals for Carney.
Kaeding has a busy day
San Diego K Nate Kaeding hit all four field goals he attempted and two-of-three XP attempts in the Chargers win over the Broncos.
Analysis: This is why Kaeding is one of the first kickers chosen in fantasy drafts. Start him next week against Kansas City and expect the same.
Prater hits 23-yarder
Denver K Matt Prater wasn’t too busy on Sunday, but did manage to score the lone points of the game for the Broncos. His 23-yard field goal was all Denver could muster against San Diego in Week 11.
Analysis: Prater isn’t a big-time fantasy kicker mainly because he doesn’t get enough field goal attempts. He is likely a free agent in your fantasy league and should stay there.
One point for Barth
Connor Barth was successful on his only kick (an extra point) of the afternoon, Sunday, against New Orleans.
Analysis: The Bucs don’t get into scoring territory enough to make Barth worth using in fantasy play. Tampa Bay travels to Atlanta for another NFC South matchup in Week 12.
Feely totals just two points
New York Jets K Jay Feely did not attempt any field goals and he managed just two extra points in Sunday's Week 11 loss at New England.
Analysis: Feely had been averaging 8.1 points per game over his past five outings, so he has been a solid fantasy option more often than not. His two points were a season-low. Look for him to bounce back in Week 12 against the Panthers.
Defense/special teams
Colts give up no TDs in win
The Indianapolis Colts defense allowed just 15 points and 354 total net yards in Sunday's Week 11 win at Baltimore. They did not allow any offensive touchdowns while picking off one pass. LB Gary Brackett managed eight solo tackles, one assist, the INT and he had two passes defended.
Analysis: The Colts DST did not have any sacks or fumble recoveries, but were still a solid play against Baltimore's flagging offense. The Colts hit the road for Houston in Week 12 and remain a top-10 fantasy option.
Ravens hold Colts to 17 points
The Baltimore Ravens defense allowed just 17 points and 375 total net yards in Sunday's Week 11 loss against the Colts. The Ravens managed two INTs and a fumble recovery, although they were unable to record any sacks. LB Ray Lewis led the way with four solo stops and four assists with a forced fumble.
Analysis: The Ravens DST remains a must-start fantsay option in all leagues heading into Week 12 against the Steelers.
Patriots DST records score
The New England Patriots defense allowed just 14 points and 226 total net yards in Sunday's Week 11 win against the Jets. DB Leigh Bodden opened the scoring with a 53-yard interception, one of four picks recorded by the New England defense. The Pats also had two sacks and a fumble recovery.
Analysis: The Patriots DST has been solid for most of the season, but you might want to go another way in Week 12 at New Orleans against QB Drew Brees and the high-octane offense of the Saints.
Jets pounded for 31 points
The New York Jets defense allowed 31 points and 410 total net yards in Sunday's Week 11 loss at New England. Loyal fantasy owners who continued to start them were rewarded with a four-yard blocked punt returned for a TD by WR Brad Smith. The Jets also came up with two sacks and a fumble recovery.
Analysis: The Jets DST will have their hands full again in Week 12 trying to contain RB DeAngelo Williams, although they might be able to feast on turnover machine QB Jake Delhomme. Consider them a solid low-end No. 1 fantasy DST in all formats.
Vikings D smothers Seahawks
The Vikings showed once again why their defense gets chosen before all others in fantasy drafts. Minnesota held Seattle to 9 points, recovered a fumble, had one INT and had two sacks on the day.
Analysis: Start them with no hesitation. Chicago is up next for them and QB Jay Cutler leads the league in INTs thrown. Vikings could have a field day next week.
Seahawks’ DST get tar-and-feathered
Seattle’s defense didn’t really show up on Sunday as they let Minnesota’s QBs throw for 28-of-33 for 290 yards and five TDs. They did hold Adrian Peterson to under 100 yards, but that isn’t really a feather in their cap. They also collected two sacks.
Analysis: Seattle’s DST is not one you should be starting in your fantasy league. If you are, God help you. But with the Rams up next, maybe they’ll be worth picking up for one week. Risky decision there, but it could pay off as they shut St. Louis out in Week 1.
Bills allow 18 points in Week 11
The Buffalo Bills defense allowed just 18 points and 310 total net yards in Sunday's Week 11 loss at Jacksonville. The Bills posted two sacks, one interception and one fumble recovery. LB Paul Posluszny led the way with 11 solo tackles, one assist and a forced fumble.
Analysis: The Bills DST is best used as a fantasy fill-in when they have a favorable matchup and your primary option does not. The Bills host the Dolphins in Week 12.
Chargers D dominates Broncos
San Diego held Denver to 3 points, recovered two fumbles, picked off Kyle Orton once and had three sacks on the day. With this win San Diego takes sole possession of the AFC West.
Analysis: The Chargers have turned it up the last few weeks defensively and with the Chiefs up next, should continue to dominate their AFC West foes.
Calling the Broncos D…
In Denver’s first six games the defense was stellar, but over the past four games the defense isn’t getting it done. Denver gave up 348 total yards to the Chargers and 32 points, but managed no INTs, no sacks and no fumbles.
Analysis: The Broncos give up 16.8 points per game, which is still fourth best in the league, but aren’t doing everything else necessary to make them a fantasy DST.
Jags D gives up just 15 points
The Jacksonville Jaguars defense allowed just 15 points and 343 total net yards in Sunday's Week 11 win against the Bills. The Jags posted two sacks, two interceptions and a fumble recovery. LB John Henderson was good for three solo stops, including both of the team's sacks and a forced fumble.
Analysis: Despite the solid performance, the Jags DST is best used only when the matchup is extremely favorable and your primary option is facing a top offense. Jacksonville meets San Francisco on the road in Week 12.
Haynesworth inactive for Week 11
Washington Redskins DT Albert Haynesworth (ankle) was inactive for Sunday's Week 11 game at Dallas. Despite his absence, the Redskins allowed just seven points and 305 total net yards. The Redskins were also good for one sack, one interception and one fumble recovery.
Analysis: The Redskins D has certainly not been the reason for the team's overall struggles this season. They remain a solid fantasy option in all leagues heading into Week 12 at Philadelphia.
Cowboys hold 'Skins without TD
The Dallas Cowboys defense allowed just six points and 324 total net yards in Sunday's Week 11 win against the Redskins. LB Keith Brooking recorded the only sack of the game and he finished with four solo stops and four assists to go along with a tackle for loss.
Analysis: The Cowboys DST remains a must-start in all leagues heading into their Thanksgiving game in Week 12 on Thursday against the hapless Raiders, who will either be starting QB Bruce Gradkowski or Charlie Frye.
Winfield inactive for Vikes
Minnesota Vikings DB Antoine Winfield (foot) has been declared inactive for Sunday's Week 11 game against the Seahawks.
Analysis: Winfield reportedly went through pre-game drills, but it was decided he cannot go. The Vikings DST is still a must-start in all fantasy leagues for this matchup with RB Julius Jones (ribs) out.
Browns defense tattooed for 38
The Cleveland Browns defense was beaten for 38 points and 473 total net yards in Sunday's Week 11 loss at Detroit. They also managed a sack, two interceptions and a forced fumble while also coming up with a safety.
Analysis: The Browns DST had been performing a little better lately, but this ends all brief thoughts of using them, even when the matchup is favorable. The Browns meet the Bengals on the road in Cincinnati in Week 12.
Lions allow 37 points to the Browns
The Detroit Lions allowed 37 points to the Cleveland Browns in Week 11 in a win. LB Larry Foote led the way with nine solo stops and three assists, as well as the team's only sack.
Analysis: The performance was sad, especially for fantasy owners who gambled that the Cleveland offense would continue to be anemic. The Browns had just five offensive TDs entering play in their first nine games. That matched that production on Sunday. Avoid the Lions DST for fantasy purposes in Week 12 against the Packers on Thanksgiving.
Bucs DST can’t hold down Brees and Co.
The Buccaneers DST allowed 38 points and 370 total net yards against the Saints Sunday. They didn’t register a sack or a turnover.
Analysis: The Buccaneers DST didn’t play too poorly, despite the score and the stats, but they aren’t worth looking at in fantasy play in Week 12 at Atlanta.
Three more picks for Saints DST
The Saints DST recorded three interceptions and one fumble recovery, with three sacks, at Tampa Bay Sunday. They allowed just 219 yards and seven points.
Analysis: The Saints DST led the league in takeaways coming into Week 11. New Orleans goes from a snoozer to a big interconference matchup on Monday Night Football, when the Patriots come to town in Week 12. Keep them active.
Packers DST holds Niners under 300 yards
The Packers DST allowed 24 points and 284 yards against the Niners Sunday. They also notched a couple sacks and an interception.
Analysis: The Packers DST should have much more success in Week 12. The Packers will give thanks to the NFL for scheduling them to play at Detroit on Thanksgiving Day. Consider picking them up for this game only.
Niners DST allow 300-plus passing yards
The Niners DST allowed 30 points and 484 total net yards at Green Bay Sunday. They also notched a pair of sacks in the game.
Analysis: The Niners DST has had some up and downs this season, but their inconsistency makes them a tough fantasy play. The Niners host the Jaguars in Week 12.
