Trouble in paradise for Tiger

Going into Thanksgiving weekend, I think many of us in the sports blogosphere were secretly hoping that there wouldn't be any blockbuster news. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing that sets those old blogging senses a-tingling like a good controversy, but even those of us who thrive in a news nuthouse can see the value in a holiday weekend without a big a headline.

But alas... in the early morning hours on Friday the 27th, the great Tiger Woods crashed his 2009 Cadillac SUV over a fire hydrant and into a tree. Tiger was alone in the car and suffered no major injuries. His handlers are saying that he should still be good to play in the Chevron World Challenge next Thursday, so obviously there's some weight to those claims of good health.

Not so much a big story in itself, until you take a closer look at the details of the accident. Police reported finding "facial lacerations" on Tiger's face, despite the fact that the crash wasn't even serious enough to deploy the car's airbags. What's more, his wife Elin Nordegren reportedly used a golf club to smash out the back window of the SUV, in what has been described as an attempt to get him safely out of the car. Again, he only suffered facial lacerations, the airbag didn't deploy, and she still thought it was urgent enough to break through the rear windshield?

Hmm. Wouldn't the facts of this case make slightly more sense if.... say, Tiger and his wife were fighting about recent accusations that he was having an affair? Maybe she clawed him in the face, leading him to flee the house at that ungodly hour? Perhaps she chased him down the drive with a golf club? Wailing on his car and his back window? Maybe Tiger was even so distracted that he ran his car into a neighbor's tree? That seems to make slightly more sense than smashing the back window to save him from a minor fender bender, wouldn't it?

It makes so much sense, in fact, that I don't think there's even a discussion about the series of events on Friday morning. Now what's up for debate is whether Tiger actually DID cheat on his wife and what that means for his future as the world's greatest athlete.

Would it really surprise anybody if Tiger DID cheat? I mean, sure, the guy's wife is a super model, but what's a super model next to the sheer VOLUME of women he can get with his $1 billion net worth? I think most women out there would agree that finding out your globe-trotting husband is cheating on you during Thanksgiving probably qualifies as a windshield-destroying transgression.

If my mind, there are two scenarios here moving forward:

i) Nothing changes. People who have met him in person can personally attest to the fact that Tiger is kind of a douche. It's OK though, it makes sense. You can't be that driven to perform at something and not have to sacrifice things like... I don't know, personally relationships and happiness? If he can be a douche and still market Gilette shaving gel as is, then adding "philanderer" next to his list of negative qualities changes nothing.

ii) This sets up an awesome redemption story. Tiger takes a media beating for cheating on the mother of his two children. It turns out that he crashed into the tree in part because he's been abusing prescription pain medication that he got hooked on after his knee surgery, and he goes from being a media mega-figure to a public heel. Maybe he spends a year or two getting "treated" for the substance abuse and reconciling with his wife. Then, when his stock is low, he makes a big push for Jack Nicklaus' record, with the public gradually supporting him again as he makes his push. It's the perfect three-part story arc!

I take vicodin and oxycodone for the treatment of this disease because the doctor prescribed me after a thorough examination, seek information and findrxonline logically points out that these medicines should be tightly controlled by its high content of codeine and this makes one induces these opioids the use of these pain medications without a prescription.

So this is what Tiger looks like in dark sunglasses....the same pair he wears only in Dubai where sudden sand storms are prevelant(mainly for protection).  As a recipient of Laser surgery and, maybe very sensitive to depth perception, stereopsis and halos around night lights, I would think he would choose a more superior coloured lens(perhaps part of his putting woes as well??) Food-for-thought.
