Among Arizona's four starting linebackers, Hayes is one of only two that is under contract for the 2010 season.

Analysis:The Cardinals will probably lose Karlos Dansby and Chike Okeafor to free agency this offseason. Hayes may be asked to assume a larger role in 2010, since Dansby's departure would leave a substantial void. Hayes is usually a decent tackler, but a back injury curtailed his 2009 production, and he's not a great IDP option because he has zero interceptions and 0.5 sacks over the last two seasons.

Breaston probably won't return punts in 2010 if his teammate Anquan Boldin is traded this offseason, the Arizona Republic reports.

Analysis:If Boldin leaves, Breaston would step into a starting wide receiver role, and the Cardinals wouldn't want to overload him with special teams duties. We think that a Boldin trade is less likely now that the Cardinals have already lost one potent offensive weapon this offseason, due to the retirement of starting quarterback Kurt Warner. Breaston would be a much more desirable receiver if Boldin is traded. He hasn't done very much as a punt returner over the last two seasons; he averaged 6.9 yards on 71 returns and didn't score any special teams touchdowns.

Rackers, who will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, will probably return to the Cardinals if the price is right, the Arizona Republic reports.

Analysis:He's usually steady on field goal tries fewer than 50 yards, and he has a nice touch on pooch and onside kicks. The Cardinals would be happy to have Rackers back in 2010. They won't overpay, however.
