The Indianapolis Star is reporting that Bob Sanders isn't doing any on-field work with the team while he recovers "from the physical demands of the 2008 season." The team does not appear to be concerned with his injury status.

Analysis:Sanders must have just gotten absolutely beaten up last year if he is still recovering from the physical demands of last season. In reality, he is playing the veteran card so he doesn't have to participate in offseason practices. Sanders should be fine for the beginning of the season, but if the physical demands of the 2009 season catch up with him then he may find himself on the shelf again.

According to the Indianapolis Star, Joseph Addai missed Friday's practice and then informed the team that he had arthroscopic knee surgery this offseason.

Analysis:Here's another case of an injured player hiding surgery from his team. Still, Addai says his knee is feeling better and he should be ready in plenty of time for training camp. Coming off a dreadful season, Addai with have to compete with Donald Brown, but should still be considered the Colts number one back.

Colts.com reports that Peyton Manning has met with team president Bill Polian and head coach Jim Caldwell to discuss the Colts assistant coaching situation.

Analysis:After publicly complaining about the uncertainty of the Colts coaching staff last month, Manning appears to have been assuaged by his meeting with Polian and Caldwell. Even with the offseason departure of long time offensive coordinator Tom Moore, Peyton should still easily be one of the top three of five quarterbacks in the league in 2009.
