Dennis Northcutt has been shipped from Jacksonville to Detroit in exchange for safety Gerald Alexander, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Analysis:Northcutt could push for the slot role as the Lions are thin at receiver behind stud Calvin Johnson. Northcutt's fantasy outlook for 2009 looks to be better in Detroit, and he is worth a look as a late-round flier for deeper leagues. He could be used as a return man on special teams as well, hence adding to his value.

George Wrighster has been released, according to NYGiants.com.

Analysis:Wrighster spent the previous six seasons as a reserve with the Jaguars, and could catch on somewhere else. He is not fantasy relevant, however.

According to Profootballtalk.com, the Jaguars have given receiver Dennis Northcutt permission to look for other employment via trade.

Analysis:Northcutt is under contract until 2011 and is owed about $10, so the Jags likely won't get much for him. His eventual departure would mean that the Jags are going to lean on new arrival Torry Holt and a glut of rookies at wide receiver this season.

John Henderson missed Thursday's practice while resting his ailing shoulder, according to the Jaguars' official team website.

Analysis:Coach Jack Del Rio expects Henderson to be ready to go for training camp. The veteran is the anchor of the Jaguars' young defensive line, but is only productive enough to use in deeper IDP leagues.

According to the Florida Times Union, the Jaguars have released second-string quarterback Cleo Lemon.

Analysis:Lemon struggled in drills this offseason, and even though he was signed to a three-year deal last season the Jags felt he wasn't good enough to keep around. Last season he appeared in one game and threw just two passes. Todd Bouman will now take over the duties as the number-two QB behind David Garrard.
