Adrian Peterson has displayed a strong arm in practice and the Vikings may allow him to throw the ball out of the Wildcat formation this season, according to ESPN. Peterson said, "We picked up Percy Harvin, so we are going to be running a lot of different scat formations, maybe Wildcat. We might just throw that in there some. So, you guys just might see me on Sundays throwing the ball, too."

Analysis:Peterson is already the No. 1 player in fantasy football, but being allowed to throw the ball a bit will add a little bonus to fantasy owners.

Scout.com is reporting that disgruntled Vikings' cornerback Antoine Winfield plans to attend training camp even if his contract issue is not resolved. Winfield has been absent from the team's organized actvities so far this summer.

Analysis:It doesn't seem like there is much bad blood between the Vikes and Winfield, but nothing looks to be resolved in the near future with his contract. Winfield will be unhappy if nothing is done by training camp, but he still plans on attending. This is good news for the Vikings, as it was believed he would hold out if nothing was done.

According to Scout.com, new Vikings' quarterback Sage Rosenfels is starting to get frustrated with the Brett Favre situation in Minnesota. Rosenfels feels like he came to Minnesota to compete for the chance to be a starting quarterback, but he and Tarvaris Jackson have taken a back seat to all of the Favre drama.

Analysis:Rosenfels is probably not the only one getting tired of Brett Favre, but as a quarterback who was acquired to compete to be the starter he has to be frustrated. If the Vikes don't land Favre, they could be dealing with two quarterbacks who have been distracted all summer with the story. That can't bode well for the team's chances if they have to rely on one of those guys.

According to the St. Paul Pioneer Press, Pat Williams and Kevin Williams are claiming that the NFL is retaliating against them for suing the league by testing them up to three times a month since the February 8 Pro Bowl. The Williamses claim that they were tested three times a year prior to this offseason.

Analysis:There is really some bad blood between the NFL and the Williamses. The duo hasn't helped themselves out much as they continue to attack NFL policies, so they shouldn't be surprised that the league has taken a special interest in them. The players are claiming that the testing is in violation of Minnesota law, so we will have to see where this story goes.

The St. Paul Pioneer Press is reporting that disgruntled Vikings' cornerback Antoine Winfield has issued a statement to explain his absence from organized team activities. "I want all to know that I'm not at OTAs because I don't want to be there," Winfield said. "I do want to be there! As I have stated before, I want to finish my career a Viking."

Analysis:Winfield is believed to be sitting out because he wants a new deal, but this situation has the potential to turn ugly. Vikings' coaches and now Winfield have all been fairly short with the media, and it seems like this situation is a long way from resolving itself. Something should happen before training camp, but if not then expect Winfield to skip that as well.
