Kevin Houser has been released by the Saints, according to ProFootballTalk.com.

Analysis:Houser served as the Saints' long-snapper and held no fantasy value as a running back. The club replaced him with Jason Kyle, who previously played with Carolina.

Roman Harper has been impressive in practice with the Saints, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Analysis:Harper notched 89 tackles (82 solo) last season, and could improve on those totals in 2009 under the direction of aggressive new defensive coordinator Gregg Williams. He could rack up some sacks as well, adding to his value for IDP leagues.

Sedrick Ellis is aiming to improve in his second pro campaign with the Saints, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune. Sean Payton expects Ellis to have a good season and the coach said, "To begin with, he is smart. He understands what we are doing. When you watch him, and you watch film of him, he is certainly focused on what we are doing. He's playing with confidence, and he gives us someone with explosion inside. He's doing well."

Analysis:Ellis notched 31 tackles and four sacks as a rookie while missing three games due to injuries, and should improve in both areas in 2009, while under the direction of aggressive new defensive coordinator Gregg Williams. Ellis is worth targeting as a sleeper for IDP leagues.

Wide receiver Robert Meachem was limited due to a pulled hamstring in Monday's OTAs, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Analysis:Meachem is battling for the third receiving spot on the Saints depth chart, but there is a lot of talent in front of him. His elite potential remains, but a breakout season is not neccessarily expected.

The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports that center Nick Leckey underwent ankle surgery to remove bone spurs. He is expected to be ready to go once training camp begins.

Analysis:Leckey was signed in the offseason to fill in at a thin spot on the Saints front line. He is not an exceptional option, but he appears to be the best available option in New Orleans.
